Committed: The Teddy Dupay Story (Featuring Billy Donovan)
I used to say that if I could do it all over again I would be a documentary filmmaker. Then one day I said, “FUCK IT! I AM A DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKER.” So with the budget of a $10 mic from Amazon and round trip plane tickets to Oklahoma City and Tampa, I wrote and directed this short documentary on Teddy Dupay (featuring Billy Donovan).
Full Documentary - Committed: The Teddy Dupay Story
About the film: Before blogs. Before YouTube. Before viral was even a word. He’s the best scorer you’ve never heard of.
Teddy Dupay was Billy Donovan’s first recruit at Florida. He led the way for guys like Udonis Haslem, Mike Miller and Matt Bonner. Standing at just 5’10 (in shoes), Teddy’s high school career was legendary. He averaged 41.5 ppg his senior year and still holds the state’s all-time scoring record with 3,744 career points. It’s a record that will never be broken.
He helped bring the Gators and Billy Donovan to national prominence in 2000 against Mateen Cleaves and Michigan State in the National Championship. Then it all fell apart.
This is the story of Teddy Dupay (featuring Billy Donovan).
